Unsifted French Toast

Unsifted® bread of choice (stale works great!) |
4 large |
eggs |
½ cup |
milk |
Pinch |
salt |
2 Tbsp |
honey (sub: granulated sugar) |
1 tsp |
vanilla extract |
t tsp |
ground cinnamon |
¼ tsp |
ground nutmeg |
4 Tbsp |
unsalted butter |
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Slice the Unsifted® bread
- Preheat griddle to 375F (medium-high heat)
- Slice Unsifted® bread of choice into ¾ - 1" thick slices
2. Combine egg mixture
- In a wide pan or bowl, add 4 large eggs
- Add ½ cup milk
- Add a pinch of salt
- Add 2 Tbsp honey
- Add 1 tsp vanilla
- Add 1 tsp cinnamon
- Add ¼ tsp nutmeg
- Optional: Add variation ingredients (see Recipe Card for delicious variations)
- Using a fork or whisk, whisk until thoroughly combined (it is okay for spices to float on top)
3. Dip bread + Cook
Pro Tip: For thicker French toast, soak the slices in the egg mixture longer. Gently flip with spatula to prevent tearing before cooking.
- Melt ½ Tbsp butter on preheated griddle
- Place bread slice into egg mixture
- Using a fork, turn slice over to coat the second side
- Remove slice from mixture when coated
- Place coated slice in melted butter on griddle
- Cook until golden brown on each side (2-3 minutes)
- Transfer cooked slices to a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven at 100F to keep warm while cooking remaining slices
- Serve warm with butter + maple syrup
STORAGE TIPS
Cooled French Toast may be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months in a freezer bag (with parchment paper between each slice).
FRENCH TOAST STICKS
Kids love these French toast sticks! Simply slice each piece of toast into 1" strips and serve with a small bowl of maple syrup for dipping!
